Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival

Dr. L Subramaniam founded the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival (LGMF) in memory of his father and guru Professor V Lakshminarayana. He strongly believed in the value of appreciating diverse musical styles, and the LGMF takes his vision to the world. The festival invites the world’s best musicians on to one stage, presenting live concerts for listeners to enjoy for free. So far, millions of people from 22 countries have been a part of the experience.
The LGMF is a series of live concerts that opens many doors. It is an opportunity for the future generations to learn from maestros and carry forward their legacy. It is a chance to watch live performances by extraordinary musicians from around the world from the comfort of their hometown.

Our Mission

To create peak experiences through live performances, and give everyone a chance to enjoy and appreciate live music by the world’s best artists, no matter where they are.

Our Impact

Since 1992, the LGMF has showcased the best live concerts by artists from around the world. From presenting Indian music in Iceland, and Senegalese music in India, the festival has influenced a generation of performers and given millions access to global live music. We have archived every performance and are creating a digital library that anyone can access. Episodes from the festival also reach viewers in 73 countries via Sri Sankara TV. Additionally, artists who perform at the festival conduct workshops at SaPa, and teach children on the sets of The SaPa Show. Media outlets across India, like The Hindu, Hindustan Times, Sunday Guardian, and more, have featured the LGMF.
