Kanchana S Shruthiranjani
Shruthiranjani comes from a family of artists. She started learning music from her father – renowned violinist Karnataka Kalashri Kanchana V Subbarathnam – at the age of three. She began performing on stage when she was four years old, and specializes in Avadhana Pallavi, which she learned from her uncle Dr. R.S. Nandakumar.
Shruthiranjani is Head of Faculty at SaPa. A trained lawyer, she also holds a Vidwath in Carnatic singing and Carnatic violin (she holds the first rank in both streams). She is an ICCR artiste and an All-India Radio musician. She also received the Senior Performer Scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
Vivek hails from the direct Shishya Parampara of Muthuswami Dikshitar. He is a Carnatic musician, All India Radio singer, and ICCR artist. He heads the SaPa centre in Chennai, and works with the founding team to design the course curriculum. In addition, he trains educators and leads workshops at SaPa. He is involved in the making of The SaPa Show – a weekly program that teaches music to young children.
A chemical engineer by qualification, Vivek found his calling in music and decided to pursue it full-time.
Chief Operating Officer
Veena holds a dual master’s degree in leadership and educational change from National Institute of Education (NIE) | Nanyang Technological University. She also received a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is passionate about making a difference in the space of learning.
Veena is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at SaPa. She is a strong advocate for learning through music, and leads research projects that measure its impact on the well-being of children.
Veena holds an MBA in finance and a master’s degree in economics. She started her career as a financial consultant at IT firms. However, she later moved into teaching and teacher training, and has worked for eight years at schools and firms (both in India and in Singapore).
Head of Administration and Operations
Nisha’s goal is to ensure that students and teachers have a fulfilling journey with SaPa. To that end, she sets up and manages processes that make day-to-day functioning more efficient.
Previously, Nisha was a software developer at Zoho and Sierra Atlantic. She then took a break to raise two daughters (both of whom are students at SaPa). As a parent, she has been a part of the SaPa family for nearly a decade. She draws on this experience to make her current role more impactful.
Nisha is a gold medalist with an MCA and a BSc (in Electronics) from Osmania University
